This invention is a one-piece dental implant (40) having a threaded shaft (43) which is tapered on one end, and a non-circular abutment (42) on the other end, and a ball-shaped head (41) mounted on the non-circular abutment (42). The dental implants (40) are advantageous in that they are of one-piece design so, therefore, do not have multiple parts which can loosen over time. A keeper cap (47) for use with the dental implants, which is adapted to retain either O-ring shaped inserts (45) or plastic inserts (46). The inserts can be switched easily at any time without the need to remove the keeper cap (47) from the denture or to form a new denture around new caps. The dental implant (40), and keeper cap (47) make up a kit along with the O-ring shaped inserts (45) and the plastic inserts (46), which kit is useful in connection with the formation of fixed or removable prostheses.
