METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A CERAMIC VALVE BALL

A method of manufacturing a ceramic valve includes comprising the steps of using an F.E.M. method to find stress field under pressure and opening torque; using a Weibull statistical theory to determine a survival rate as a function of torque; and choosing a Si3N4/BAS composite material that satisfies the parameters determined from the first two steps. The method further includes making the ceramic valve using a process of pressureless sintering.
