PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commutatorless motor which can surely detect the position of a rotor, without making the rotator thickness larger than the thickness of a stator. SOLUTION: This commutatorless motor 1 is equipped with a frame 10, a stator 30 which is arranged in the frame 10, consists of a laminating core and has a plurality of magnetic poles around which a stator coil 37 is wound, a rotor 40 which is rotatably supported by the frame 10 and has a permanent magnet 44, and a detecting means which is arranged in the vicinity of the rotor 40 and detects the position of rotation of the rotor 40. A recessed part 38 (accommodation space) is formed in a part position of the magnetic pole 32 of the stator 30 of which part position faces the outer peripheral surface of the rotor 40, and the detecting means 61 is installed in the recessed part 38.
