PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple anode matrix-type fluorescent character display tube capable of making a duty cycle plural times without drastically changing a conventional structure. SOLUTION: Anode electrodes 3 are arranged in a matrix form. Grid electrodes 2 in plural rows are arranged so that two rows of the anode electrodes 3 may face one row, respective anode electrodes 3 and respective grid electrodes 2 are sectioned into two regions in the row direction, and an anode wiring pattern of a fourfold anode matrix type is formed in each region. Anode terminals P1A to P(4Xn)A for connecting the first to fourth anode electrodes 3 in common are drawn out from the left end, and anode terminals P1B to P(4Xn)B for connecting the first to fourth anode electrodes 3 in common are drawn out from the right end.
