PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat exchanger which surely prevents noncondensing gas from flowing into the heat exchanger by means of a check valve in a state where counterpressure exceeding the pressure of given head height is imposed, and which hardly discharges condensate to the outside from an atmospheric air releasing portion. SOLUTION: An atmospheric air releasing pipe 4 is provided to the inside of a heat exchanger 1. The upper portion of the pipe 4 is provided with an overflow pipe 3 and a check valve 7 through a communicating passage 12. A float 24 is arranged inside of the check valve 7 so as to be vertically movable. Reverse flow of air into the heat exchanger 1 is prevented by the check valve 7, while discharge of the condensate to the outside from the check valve 7 can be prevented by the float 24.
