The trap removes sand and solids esp. from rainwater (1). It has a container (10) with a mainly cylindrical wall (11) with water intake (14) and water outlet (15). An incoming rainwater flow passes along the container wall, and from the center of the container via an extraction device (20), to the water outlet. The device consists of a submerged pipe (21) with intake opening (22), positioned below the water outlet and approx. in the center of the container. A further drain (23) is connected to the water outlet.
