PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a high quality hidden pattern without lowering the throughput of a printer. SOLUTION: This printing system is composed of a host computer and a printer, and a driver 5 in the host computer has a rasterizer 31, a hidden pattern generating part 32a, a color correction processing part 33, a color correction table 34, a halftone processing part 35 and an interlace processing part 36. The part 32a generates a hidden pattern on the basis of image data in a dot unit outputted from the rasterizer 31. Because a hidden pattern is generated on the basis of the output of the rasterizer 31, processing after color correction processing can be made in common to the conventional practice, and the change locations of driver processing are reduced. Also, the load on the printer can be reduced, and a high quality hidden pattern can be generated by generating a hidden pattern in the driver 5.
