The adapter includes a reception unit for an earphone. The reception unit is arranged at the ear using a hoop. The earphone can be attached to a mobile telephone or to a portable audio apparatus. The earphone is a part of a head set comprising the earphone and a microphone. Background noise can be distinguished even during reproduction of signals by the earphone. The reception unit for the earphone can receive different types of earphones. The signals are emitted in bundles in the direction of the auditory canal.
