PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser driving device (driving integrated circuit) suitable for mounting an optical pickup by allowing high speed level control in the manner of improving the accuracy of the recording level and simultaneously changing the multivalued level, and also by reducing the circuit scale and the number of control lines. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a recording current producing means 5 for supplying the recording current corresponding to the recording current command value which has at least two recording current levels and which is time-sequentially supplied to a semiconductor laser, a k-fold control means 6 for making each recording current corresponding to each recording current command value of this recording current producing means 5 k-fold and a k-fold command producing means 3 for supplying the k-hold command to this k-fold control means 6. |
