PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high image quality by using a display device efficiently. SOLUTION: When a display image plane on a display device 4 and a projected image 34 have different aspect ratios, an original image 11 is electrically enlarged with horizontal and vertical magnitudes different from each other such that only a projected region 35 displayed as the projected image 34 from the original image 11 is displayed on an entire display screen of the display device 4, and a deformed display image 36 displayed on the entire display image plane of the display device 4 is optically enlarged and restored with horizontal and vertical magnitudes different from each other such that the total magnitudes of the projected image 34 against the original image 11 in vertical and horizontal directions are equal.
