After start-up or interruption of the process the plug(14) is lowered onto the heated film strip(3) with a reduced stroke or force compared to those used normally in production and picks up heat from the film. An Independent claim is made for the process equipment which has a drive unit(13) whose downward stroke or applied force ca varied.
