PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method and system having a secret holding function on the Internet or a network utilizing its technique. SOLUTION: In this communication method or system between a user interface and an information-providing center, an information item is requested from a user interface to an information-providing center, and the user interface inputs desired data corresponding to a provided information item, converts the inputted data to another data form and then, transmits it as an information item to the information-providing center. Consequently, even in the case of using a normal communication system where a communication protocol is not ciphered, the secrecy of communication data can be held.
