A navigation apparatus wherein information about a route is stored previously in a removable storage medium, wherein image data recorded previously in the storage medium in relation to the route information are retrieved therefrom and displayed in conjunction with the route information, wherein the navigation apparatus shares the removable storage medium with an image pickup apparatus. An IC card inserted in a navigation apparatus providing guidance regarding a route to a destination so as to store information about the route, wherein image data related to the route are recorded in the IC card in correspondence with locations along the route, and wherein the IC card is also adapted to be loaded into an image pickup apparatus to enable a user to take images.
