PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a facsimile equipment where power supply is stopped in a standby state and a caller telephone number notice service is used in the case of return from the energy-saving mode to supply power in a way proper to a destination. SOLUTION: When the facsimile equipment 1 set in the energy-saving mode is released from the energy-saving mode because of the arrival of an incoming call, whether or not caller ID information is received is checked, and when no caller ID information is received, an internal unit 9, a control section 2 and a plotter unit 10 are released from the energy-saving mode and a plotter 18 records and outputs received image information. The facsimile equipment 1 receiving the caller ID information acquires a caller telephone number from the caller ID, checks whether or not the caller telephone number is coincident with any of registered telephone numbers. When coincident, the internal unit 9, the control section 2 and the plotter unit 10 are released from the energy-saving mode and the plotter 18 records and outputs received image information. When there is any registered telephone number coincident with the caller telephone number, the facsimile equipment 1 releases the internal unit 9 and the control section 2 from the energy-saving mode and allows an image information storage section 2 to sequentially store the received image information.
