PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the permanent set of a seal lip under a high pressure condition and improve the pressure resistance and a sealing property. SOLUTION: In this seal, a lip cover 14 consisting of a thin steel plate is attached on the front side of a seal lip 13 consisting of a synthetic resin and formed into a bent shape nearly corresponding to the seal lip 13 in the mounting state to the outer periphery of a shaft 2. An O ring 15 for sealing up between the seal lip 13 and lip cover 14 against the space S1 in a machine by closely contacting with the outer periphery surface of the tip 13 or the seal lip 13 expanded its diameter by the mounting to the shaft periphery is held on the inner periphery of the level difference 14a formed on the tip of the lip cover 14. Therefore, the fluid pressure with a high pressure in the space S1 in the machine is not exerted to the seal lip 13. |
