In conveyers of the kind consisting of endless cables which carry, by means of cross-straps, an endless belt, the crossstraps are secured to the cables by means of a head through which the straps pass, at least those parts of the head which engage the cable being formed of resilient flexible material and shaped to provide a groove for the cable. In one form, Fig. 1, the head consists of a moulded rubber block 10 provided with screwthreaded grooves 16, 17 and lugs 11, 12. The head is positioned between two cables, not shown. A slot is formed transversely of the block through the lugs 11, 12 to receive the cross-strap 19 which is secured in place by a pin 20 passing through aligned holes in the lug 12 and strap 19. Alternatively, the slot is metal-lined and the strap free to slide within it. In the form shown in Figs. 4, 5 two blocks 25 of rubber are bolted between side plates 22, 23. A cross-strap 30 passes through slots in the side plates and is retained by two split pins 31. inserted in the strap 30. Each block 25 is provided with cable-engaging grooves 27, 28 provided with corrugations 29. In the form shown in Fig. 7, each of the blocks 25 is replaced by a pair of blocks 34 secured between the side plates by bolts 35 having enlarged centre portions.
