PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus which can reduce power consumption at a standby time when a printer is not in use, and which can reduce power consumption even when the printer is being used by shutting off a power source of a buffer corresponding to a non-use signal. SOLUTION: A means is set for turning on/off a power source of a buffer for input/output signals of a parallel port as an interface part between a printer and a computer. A function for identifying a communication protocol on the parallel port is provided, and a function for identifying each Phase or each Event No. of the identified communication protocol is set. |
