PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image processing method in which difference of output characteristics between recording heads can be corrected without causing any problem of cost when the recording head of a printer is replaced. SOLUTION: A printer generates a random number when the recording head of a printer is replaced (S210), and holds it as a head ID for specifying a loaded recording head (S220). On the other hand, correction value information for correcting the difference of output characteristics held by the printer is set at a default value (S230). Consequently, a decision can be made based on the head ID whether the correction value information being employed in correction processing corresponds to the loaded recording head or not (S220).
