PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To practically realize the mass production by forging a sprocket having a dog gear. SOLUTION: The sprocket manufactures a product D in a first process in which a primary workpiece A provided with a sprocket and a dog gear adjacent to each other by a hot forging means is formed, a second process in which a secondary workpiece which is precisely machined by setting the primary workpiece A to a cold forging device is formed, and a third process in which a notched groove 3 of a specified depth is circumferentially provided on the boundary between the dog gear 1 and the sprocket 2 in the secondary worlkpiece B in the direction orthogonal to the axial direction by a cutting means.
