PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an additive for animal feed usable as it is after sterilized, capable of enhancing growth effect and nutritive value in animal feed, by constituting microorganisms having erythritol productivity. SOLUTION: This additive for animal feed is obtained by constituting microorganisms having erythritol productivity. This microorganism is pref. such one as to belong to the genus Trichosporonoides, Aureobasidium, Moniliella, Torulopsis or Brettanomyces, e.g. Trichosporonoides megachiliensis SN-G42 strain (FERM BP-1430), Trichosporonoides oedocephalis TO-241-14 strain (FERM BP-5773), Aureobasidium sp. SN-45 strain (FERM P-7594). This additive is desirable to be used in an animal feed at a formulation rate of <=30 wt.%, pref. 3-20 wt.%. |
