PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an abnormality in a high-pressure fuel system, and enable the abnormality of a pressure sensor itself to be detected, and also enable an abnormal space to be specified. SOLUTION: This abnormality detecting device for a high-pressure fuel system 1 is provided with a fuel-feeding pump 13 outputting fuel at high pressure, a common rail 15 storing fuel under high pressure, a pressure-limiting switch 19 keeping the pressure of the common rail 15 at a value less than a definite pressure, and with an electronic control device (hereafter referred to as ECU) 25 carrying out an abnormality detecting process. Then when the ECU starts an abnormality detecting process for the high-pressure fuel system by means of diagnostic check, the fuel-feeding pump 13 is forcibly driven, the detection of abnormality in the high-pressure fuel system is thereby started, and an abnormal place is also specified based on the measured value detected by the pressure sensor 17 and the driving time of pump, until the pressure limiting switch 19 is actuated. |
