PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing apparatus not generating the rise in voltage and the increase in power consumption caused by an increase in the distance between electrodes generated because the surfaces of electrodes are dissolved when a component having sterilizing power over a long period of time is formed and supplied or the lowering of formation efficiency caused by the change of an electrolytic condition accompanied thereby and capable of supplying sterilizable metal ions stably and efficiently. SOLUTION: In a sterilizing apparatus consisting of at least a pair of electrodes 6a, 6b opposed to each other parallelly at a predetermined interval and comprising metals at least one of which elutes sterilizable metal ions, an electrolytic cell 21 supporting the electrodes 6a, 6b and a power supply part 13 for supplying power to the electrodes 6a, 6b, the electrodes 6a, 6b are formed into a shape becoming large in electrode area in proportion to the distance between the electrodes 6a, 6b.
