PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooking oven enabling uniform and high quality cooked food to be obtained by processing and also enabling cooking to be easily, quickly and efficiently carried out when cooking food materials put on a food tray made of a ceramic board or a metal plate. SOLUTION: This cooking oven 1 is characterized by a structure where a convectively heating chamber 4 with a front opening 9 and a lower combustion chamber 3 are set up in a double-deck form within the space of an oven body 2, both chambers are partitioned with a semi-muffle plate 6 and are interconnected through a gas channel 7 placed along the wall 8 of the oven 1, the chamber 4 is equipped with a means supporting a food tray 10 (a ceramic board or a metal plate) coming in and out at the opening 9 in midair at a nearly intermediate position in the chamber 4 and food materials 21 put on the tray 10 are cooked in the chamber 4.
