PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a satisfactorily image-readable image reader by adapting a rotating shaft joint for effectively suppressing the transmission of vibration from a motor side to a driven side to stabilize the operation of the driven side as the drive system of a carriage. SOLUTION: A rotating shaft joint 1 comprises an input side joint 2 for receiving the output shaft of a drive side, an output side joint 3 for receiving a driven shaft 7b, and an elastic layer 4 interposed between the joints 2, 3, which are concentrically arranged, and an inertial body 5 having a mass for twisting the elastic layer 4 in the driving rotating direction to promote the loading in rotation promoting a torsional load is installed to the elastic layer 4. The rotating shaft joint 1 is integrated into the driving mechanism of the carriage having a scanning module of this image reader. |
