<p>A pair of gripper jaws are provided to gripping tools of different diameter. Each gripper jaw includes a first gripping surface for gripping small diameter tools and a second gripping surface for gripping larger diameter tools. The gripping surfaces are formed by a cylindrical groove superimposed over a V-shaped groove. The V-shaped groove is configured to provide preferably four points of contact with a first tool when gripped by both jaws. The cylindrical groove is configured to grip about twenty five per cent of the circumference of a second tool when gripped by both jaws. The gripping surface of the gripper jaws is constructed and arranged to securely grip and hold tools of different diameter without requiring a change of gripping jaws.</p> |
