The invention relates to a multilayer filter element, especially for filtering gases, wherein several layers of filter media succeed each other in cross-flow direction. All individual layers are made of synthetic fibers, especially polyester fibers. All filter layers have an increasing filter fineness in cross-flow direction and contain at least one filter layer mounted on the inflow side that is made of a melt-blown nonwoven fabric, preferably consisting of polyester. |
