Novel steroid derivatives represented by general formula (I) or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof, useful as anti-inflammatory agents wherein R1 is a corticosteroid bonded through an ester linkage formed from the alcoholic hydroxyl group at position 21; and R2 is glutathione, cysteine or penicillamine bonded through a sulfide linkage.
