PURPOSE: A micro computer system is provided to adopt compressed instructions for frequently used instruction sets so that it can enhance a performance, reduce an electricity consumption, and use a small sized internal instruction cache. CONSTITUTION: A micro computer system comprises a processor core(40), the first de-multiplexer(20), a compressed instruction decoder(30), and the first multiplexor(25). The processor core(40) generates the first selection signal for controlling selection between a general instruction mode and a compressed instruction mode according to a mode conversion instruction. The first de-multiplexer generates selectively the general instruction or the compressed instruction according to the first selection signal. The compressed instruction decoder(30) decodes the selected compressed instruction if the de-multiplexor generates the compressed instruction. The first multiplexer(25) selects one between an output of the first de-multiplexer(20) and an output of the compressed instruction decoder(30), and transmits it to the processor core(40).
