The arrangement has measurement markings distributed uniformly along the periphery of the rotary component and a sensor near the markings with a measurement window (T) and connected to an evaluation circuit to which a signal is fed each time a marking passes the sensor. The measurement window is variable in the direction of the passing markings as a function of the revolution rate of the component.
