PURPOSE: A field emission display(FED) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to have a suitable characteristic for a mass production and putting to practical use. CONSTITUTION: A field emission display(FED) includes a primary plate(2), a secondary plate(4), a cathode electrode(6) arranged in line type on a side of the primary plate(2), an anode electrode(8) arranged in line type on a side of the secondary plate(4) to cross vertically with the cathode electrode(6). A surface of the cathode electrode(6) has a plurality of emitters(10) opposite to the anode electrode(8) having each fluorescent film(12) in green, blue and red on a side. A crossing space of the cathode electrode(6) and the anode electrode(8) composes a pixel. A primary partition(14) and a secondary partition(16) between two electrodes(6, 8) function to maintain a regular space between two plates(2, 4). When a predetermined voltage is impressed on the cathode electrode(6) and the anode electrode(8), the emitter(10) emits an electron by an electric field caused from a voltage difference, and the emitted electron radiates the fluorescent film(12) by colliding, so as to embodies a picture. |
