PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sensitivity of detection signal in a vibration type gyro scope provided with a bimorph type vibrator and improve the ratio to noise. SOLUTION: A vibration type gyro scope comprises a vibrator 1 provided with a first vibration layer 3 and a second vibration layer 2. Driving electrodes 5A and 5B are provided on the surface 3a of the first vibration layer 3 and the surface 2a of the second vibration layer 2 for impressing a drive voltage in the direction perpendicular to these surfaces and exciting the vibrator 1. At least a pair of detection electrodes 4A and 4B are provided on the surface 2a of the vibration body 2 and detect the detection signal caused in accordance with the detection vibration of the vibrator 1. The first vibration layer 3 has a perpendicular piezoelectric component AZ to the surface 2a of the second vibration layer 2 and the second vibration body 2 has a perpendicular piezoelectric component BZ to the surface 2a of the second vibration layer 2 and has a parallel piezoelectric component BX toward at least a direction in the surfaces of the second vibration layer. The perpendicular piezoelectric component of the first vibrator 3 and the perpendicular piezoelectric component of the second vibrator are in opposite directions. |
