PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion joint in which compressive performance is not lowered even in the case of large compression without increasing the width and weight of a joint body. SOLUTION: This expansion joint has a joint body 1 in which at least load supporting members 10 and leaf spring members 11 are connected alternately and a tabular mounting material 2 arranged on the upper side of the joint body 1. The joint body 1 is constituted by connecting mutual one-end side sections and mutual other-end side sections in the horizontal direction in the adjacent load supporting members 10, 10 through the leaf spring members 11 respectively while each leaf spring member 11 is formed in an approximately inward indented curved U-shape in a plan view or an approximately arcuate shape.
