PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily recognize a use state of film by providing a readout means for reading out the use state of loaded film and a display means for displaying a character string in accordance with the use state of the film read out by the readout means. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 1 read out film information based on a bar code disk 16 arranged in a cartridge 14 by using a readout device 5. Photosensors 5a and 5b are arranged at a position facing to the bar code disk 16 in the device 5. Information read out from the bar code disk 16 by the device 5 is the information on the total number of frames and film sensitivity or the like in addition to the use state of the film. A display device 9 displays the character string showing any one of the unexposed state, the halfway exposed state, the already exposed state and the already developed state of the film in accordance with the use state of the film read out by the device 5 under the control of the microcomputer 1.
