PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manually operate a blowing mode door by a blowing mode lever, in an air-conditioning apparatus for a vehicle capable of setting a two layer- mode of outside air and inside air blowing outside air and inside air separately. SOLUTION: This air-conditioning apparatus has a adjusting door 51 for adjusting a communicating area between a communicating port 45 and a second hot-air passage 46. The adjusting door 51 is operated to a position of decreasing the communicating area, with the transition from a normal mode of closing an inlet portion 40 by a hot-air bypass door 41 to a two-layer mode of opening the inlet portion 40 by the hot-air bypass door 41. This provides a function of controlling a fluctuation of a blowing air volume ratio conventionally obtained by the foot door 49. Accordingly, the foot door 49 has merely to be operated only when changing the blowing mode, which enables the blowing mode door such as the foot door 49 to be operated manually by the blowing mode lever.
