PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double-layer capacitor of a thin plate type or a card type and its manufacturing method of high productivity, wherein an electrolyte is restrained from leaking out, moisture absorption of a polarizable electrode, and a polarizable electrode and a separator are brought into close contact with each other by ensuring reliable sealing for the capacitor. SOLUTION: An electric double-layer capacitor has a structure, where a pair of polarizable electrodes 16 dipped into an electrolyte 19, each of which is brought into contact with a conductive current collection 15, are arranged separate from each other through the intermediary of a separator, where at least either activated charcoal or carbon material is contained in the polarizable electrode 16. Electric double-layer capacitors are continuously formed as connected in a two-dimensional manner and divided into discrete electric double- layer capacitors through a punching process. |
