PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily retrieve a desired program from program contents information by retrieving character string information of the program contents information and generating the retrieved information as a list so as to extract a character string in a program name and to use it for a retrieval key. SOLUTION: A retrieval key acquisition means 11a extracts character string information of a program name according to an instruction from a viewer sent from an external signal input means 22 and outputs the information to a retrieval key processing means 11b together with a retrieval key processing instruction signal. The retrieval key processing means 11b extracts words from the character information string denoting a program name to obtain character string information expressing only the title as a retrieval key and provides an output of it to a retrieval execution means 11c. The retrieval execution means 11c applies full text coincident retrieval to the character string information of the program name stored in a program contents information storage memory 9 on the basis of the character string information received from the retrieval key processing means 11b. Then the means 11b provides an output of the hit program name as a retrieval result to a list generating means 10 together with a message denoting it as a related program.
