PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head and its production method which prevent disconnection of a winding without applying a binding material (a registered trademark) to the vicinity of the junction part between the winding and a winding connection part and facilitate positioning of the winding in the production process. SOLUTION: A head vase 1 is provided where a terminal assembly 2 having a winding connection part 2b and a head chip 3 around which a winding 3b is wound are arranged, and a notch part K is provided in the terminal assembly 2 and the winding connection part 2b provided in its edge, and both end parts of the winding 3b are placed in the notch part K and are connected to the winding connection part 2b by solder H. Thus, the winding is prevented from projecting above from the surface position of the terminal assembly, and the bonding material which coats the vicinity of the junction part between one end part of the winding and the winding connection part is made unnecessary.
