PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a broadcast receiver by which a contract status can be confirmed at a practical speed and the contract status with respect to respective channels can be confirmed even when a package contract is made for a plurality of channels. SOLUTION: Contract information is set in an ID list included in an SI (program information) in a transport stream, a control means 8 separates the contract information from the SI resulting from being separated from the transport stream that is received by a reception means 2 and demultiplexed by a demultiplexer means 3, and a restriction reception control means 10 collates the contract information with contents of an IC card. Thus, the contract status can quickly be confirmed with respect to each channel even when a package contract is made for a plurality of channels as well as a contract of a single channel.
