PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for measuring transmission line propagation delay time for measuring transmission line propagation delay time accurately regardless of the influence of the attenuation of a transmission line. SOLUTION: The transmission line propagation display time measuring device is provided with a data table storage 22 for storing a measurement error corresponding to the rising time of a test signal and the amount of attenuation of a transmission line 14 in advance; a test signal generation circuit 10 for generating a test signal to be inputted from one end of the transmission line 14; a timing measurement circuit 18 for measuring the timing when the test signal is inputted from one end of the transmission line 14, and the timing when the test signal being reflected from the other end of the transmission line 14 is outputted from the one end; and an operation circuit 20 for calculating time required for making a round trip of the transmission line 14 by the test signal according to the measurement result of the timing measurement circuit 18, and for correcting a value that is obtained by equally dividing the calculated value based on the measurement error being stored in the data table storage 22 for obtaining the transmission line propagation delay time of the transmission line 14.
