PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor for printing, capable of changing the resolution of image data or printing an image on a printing paper sheet and moving the image to an arbitrary position of the sheet. SOLUTION: This image processor for printing has extracted image memories 24 and 25, having a capacity of extracted image data for at least a plurality of rasters by recording image data extracted by an extractor 22 such as first and second extracted image memories 24 and 25 for preserving the extracted image data for at least one raster, for example. Then, the extractor 22 in an image processor 20 extracts compressed image data for one raster at least and records them in the first or second extracts image memory 24 or 25. Besides, a read buffer 27 for printing reads the recorded extracted image data out of the first or second extracted image memory and supplies them to a print engine 12.
