The rigid sail for boats and land and ice yachts has a thick profile which can be inverted by pivoting it through a half-turn like a venetian blind. These are mounted in a rectangular section mast (1) with regularly spaced pivots on which are mounted a rigid sail component forming the leading edge (3) and a similar second component (4) which forms the trailing edge of the sail.
