<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent delays or failures of data transmission due to asynchronous communication of electronic mail or the like on the Internet. SOLUTION: In the case of transmitting image data read from a data input part 11 through asynchronous communication with an asynchronous communication control part 22, in a transmission terminal, notice information showing the transmission of these data is generated by a transmission information generating part 2 and reported to a reception terminal through synchronous communication by a synchronous communication control part 21. In the reception terminal, the reception of data corresponding to the notice information received by the synchronous communication by the synchronous communication control part 21 is waited. When the data can not be received within prescribed time, by requesting the retransmission of data by a connection to the transmission terminal through the synchronous communication by the synchronous communication control part 21 and image data are received. When the retransmission request is received, in the transmission terminal, relevant data are extracted from a data storage part 3 and retransmitted to the reception terminal through the synchronous communication by the synchronous communication control part 21.</p> |
