PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a frequency spectrum from being spread even when amplifiers are operated in a nonlinear operating region by amplifying power of a phase modulation signal with two amplifiers with a power amplification factor and synthesizing the two signals whose power is amplified in opposite phases and to improve the power efficiency and to reduce the power consumption by operating the amplifiers in the nonlinear operating region. SOLUTION: The transmitter consists of a distributor 2 that distributes a phase modulation signal into two paths as phase modulation signals 12, 13, a delay device 3 that delays the phase modulation signal 12, an amplifier 5 that amplifies power of a delayed signal 14, a phase shifter 4 that generates a signal resulting from shifting the phase modulation signal 13 to have a prescribed phase, an amplifier 7 that amplifies power of a phase shift signal, a coupling level adjustment device 8 that adjusts a power level of a distortion signal in a power amplification signal 17 so as to be equal to a power level of a distortion signal of a power amplification signal 15, and a coupler 5 that couples the power amplification signal 15 with a coupling level adjustment signal 18.
