The invention relates to a fitting for a top-hung window (10), especially on caravans, mobile homes and the like. The inventive fitting consists of at least one pair of engaging locking elements. One of said elements is provided on the leaf of a window or flap which is pivotally held in front of the window opening. The other element is provided on the frame (8) on the window opening. One of the two locking elements can be moved in relation to the remaining locking element. The inventive fitting also consists of an operating lever for the moveable locking element. Said lever is rotatably held on the leaf of the window and can be coupled to an elongated transmission member (6) in such a way that said lever displaces the transmission member and thus the frame-side locking element into or out of a locking engagement with the locking element when the window pane is closed and when there is a pivoting movement, whereby said last locking element faces the leaf of the window. Said transmission member is guided in the frame in a displaceable manner. The frame-side locking element is fixed to said member. The operating lever is connected to a gearing, such as a crown gear that intermeshes with a crown rail (3). The aim of the invention is to enable operation to be smooth and hardly prone to failures. The gearing, especially the crown rail (3), is held on the leaf (10) of the window in a displaceable manner. A coupling member (4) is provided on the gearing, especially the crown rail (3). Said coupling member engages with a carrier member (5) when the leaf (10) of the window is closed. Said carrier member (5) is held on the frame (8) in a displaceable manner. The displaceable transmission member (drive cable 6) is fixed to said carrier member (5). |
