The fuel injection valve has a buffer section for damping the alterations in fuel pressure if the needle valve(15) is closed. To this aim an elastic element(18) is provided between a pipe(17), located between the core(4) and valve holder(10) of a magnet(2), and the core to form the buffer section. The elastic element extends in the direction of the outer circumference of the valve holder.
