<p>The appliance has a flat, hollow, elastic basic body which is filled with fluid or air and is divided at right angles to its flat surface into two adjacent chambers (2,3). The chambers are of identical size and shape and contain separate volumes of fluid (4,5). They are joined integrally by a shared rigid base (6). The chambers are semicircular or kidney shaped. The internal height of the chambers is less than their internal width. Each chamber has a peripheral side wall (11,12) joining the cover forming the foot support surface (9,10) and with a parallel base. A stabiliser plate (15) fits into a central recess in the base of the basic body and has a back-tapered edge (14).</p> |
