LUMP RESIN COMPOSITION AND ARTIFICIAL MARBLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition which is comminuted to particles for imparting gorgeous appearance similar to that of natural marble without impairing characteristics peculiar to artificial marble, in particular stain resistance and to obtain the artificial marble containing the particles in a dispersed state. SOLUTION: The lump resin composition contains flakes of at least one of mica B and glass C and a vinyl polymer A. The swelling degree of the resin composition after immersion in methyl methacrylate for 20 hr is >=1.5 time. Particles X formed by comminuting the resin composition are dispersed in a matrix Y comprising a vinyl polymer E to obtain the objective artificial marble.
