PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic porous body having excellent performance and a producing method thereof. SOLUTION: Molding sand containing silica, alumina and the like is housed in a rolling granulator, mixed with water to be kneaded and granulated. The granular body is held under heating to remove water. The dried granular body is fired to produce an inorganic porous raw material. The inorganic porous raw material is heat-treated in a sodium hydroxide aq. solution. An inorganic porous body 1 formed into zeolite in the outer peripheral part and the peripheral wall part of pores 4 is finally obtained by washing with water and air drying after the treatment with the alkali. The satisfied activity coping with various applications is exhibited by wholly covering the outer peripheral part of the inorganic porous body 1 and the peripheral wall part of the pores 4 with the zeolite part 2 and existing no other binder or the like with the multiplier effect of many pores 4.
