PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely apply a pore diameter maintaining agent to a hollow fiber membrane when the hollow fiber membrane for purifying blood in an artificial kidney or the like with an outstanding water permeation function and segmenting properties, is manufactured by setting the take-up rate of a coagulated hollow fiber membrane to be as high as a specified number of times of the discharge rate of a spun yarn solution from a spun yarn nozzle. SOLUTION: A uniform spun yarn solution comprising a mixture of 25 wt.% polymer component at a composition ratio between cellulose and a hydrophobic polymer of 100:0-60:40 (wt/wt), 50-96 wt.% tertiary amine-oxide and 25 wt.% polar diluent which does not dissolve cellulose, is discharged from a spun yarn nozzle. Further, the solution is soaked in an aqueous coagulating bath to be coagulated into a hollow fiber membrane. In this case, the take-up rate of the coagulated hollow fiber membrane is set to be 12 times or more as high as the discharge rate of the spun yarn solution from the spun yarn nozzle. For the tertiary amine-oxide, an N-methylmorphaline oxide is used, and as the polar diluent which does not dissolve cellulose, water is used.
