摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To culture microorganisms continuously without deteriorating the microorganism by culturing the microorganism in a tubular culturing vessel, in which a culturing liquid is supplied continuously from one end of it and discharged from another end, for increasing the effective carrier surface area in the culturing liquid. SOLUTION: This method for culturing microorganisms continuously is provided by filling a carrier 102 not having a liquid penetrating property in a tubular culturing vessel 101 in which a culturing liquid is supplied continuously from one end of it and discharged from another end and culturing microorganisms such as Pseudomonas cepacia KK01 strain (FERM BP-4235), etc., which is a trichloroethylene-decomposing bacteria. Since carriers having a high specific gravity or a small particle diameter can be used, and also the internal surface in voids of a porous carrier can be utilized, it is possible to enlarge the effective surface area of the carrier in the culturing liquid, improve the efficiency of the continuous culture, also prevent substrate inhibition and competitive inhibition and culture the objective microorganism continuously without deteriorating the microorganism.
